Ice

So we spent half of Tuesday at home "anticipating" the ice storm and half of Wednesday waiting for what ice we had to melt. Unfortunately, since everything was canceled yesterday that meant no school, no speech and no reading class! Yikes! And Chris is gone for three days....Fun! We lasted until about 11 am at home! The first picture is of the kids watching the new show Olivia on Tuesday - very cute. The rest are from us passing the time yesterday. First thing in the morning they had their aprons on to play restaurant. Morgan even wanted me to cross her name off one of her aprons and write Carson's name! Then Carson came up with the idea to read books in front of the window while watching the icicles melting. And we made brownies, out of a box of course!

Reality

Makes it all seem a little more real now...

Update

The first picture is of Carson and I discussing why he doesn't need his pacifiers anymore. The second picture is of us throwing them in the garbage can last night! It only took him about 30 minutes of crying last night to fall asleep with out them, but then he was up at midnight, 1:30 am and 4:00 am (hmmmm...I think I'm going to be seeing those times a lot more often in a few months)! Surprisingly, he took a 2 and 1/2 hour nap today after only about 10 minutes of crying. Right now he is asleep after less than 10 minutes of crying! So far, this is worth the two years of bliss that those things brought him!

Celebration

We finally celebrated Carson's birthday today (I don't think he knew we were a couple days late)! He did get to try out Little Gym on his birthday though and used up plenty of energy. Morgan blew out Carson's candles for him, but he was interested in them later and was pretending to blow them out again. He was really only interested in the frosting on the cake, he just ate that bit by bit. He did this with the cookies we got on the flight home during Christmas too, he stuck his finger in to eat the melting chocolate chips instead of the whole cookie! He was actually eating his cake so slow tonight that he was sitting alone by the end and only ate about half of his piece!

Dog

Once again, my kids are entertained by a stranger's dog...For close to an hour this morning a dog was hanging out in our front yard. Of course, I'm sure he didn't leave since there were two kids staring at him through the front door. He probably thought for sure one of them would open the door!

More Leaves

Chris and the kids went out to take down the Christmas lights today...and came in five hours later! What a good dad...I was inside most of the time taking down Christmas decorations and doing loads of laundry...Still catching up from vacation. They ate lunch outside, raked more leaves and washed Chris's car. Carson was less than pleased when he had to come in for nap (and because he didn't understand that once Chris's car was dried off, he couldn't wash it anymore).
