Star of the Week

This week for school Morgan was the "Star of the Week" so had to make a poster about herself. Although I know I would have major poster envy if I saw what some of the other kids posters looked like after their crafty moms did most of the work for them, we were determined to let her do this by herself! It actually turned out cuter than I thought it would. You can't see all the writing, but on the very top and very bottom it says "I love u Mommy and Daddy". She also labeled the pictures...Me and my baby brother, Me and my mommy, and the last one...Me, my daddy, my baby brother and my Carson! My Carson...that was my favorite. She also wrote donuts and healthy peaches as some of her favorite foods. Some of the stickers are Littlest Pet Shop, a ladybug and soccer ball, princess Belle and the rest are just glittery flower stickers that seem to make it onto nearly every art project. She was very proud!

Balloons

These are pictures from the Plano Balloon festival. Last year we did actually pay money to go to the festival and were able to see the balloons up close and eat junk food. That would have been a bit more challenging this year and honestly, watching it from a park or parking lot is almost better! So we packed up everyone, got donuts, and found the perfect parking lot! The flower was Morgan's favorite and Carson liked the one with the buffalo (?) on the side.

Holden

Just some pictures of Holden. Funny how we already don't have near as many pictures of him as the other kids. One of the pics is of Morgan helping with his bath. We have already been caught and scolded twice because we were giving him a bath after she was in bed!

Birthday

Morgan, Carson and I cut and colored "Happy Birthday Daddy" instead of a card. I would have posted the "Happy" and the "Birthday" but there is too much of my messy house showing in the background of those pics. Morgan of course led Carson in what he could and couldn't color and she did almost all of the cutting. We thought it turned out pretty cute!
Just a picture of Chris's birthday cake (store bought of course) that the kids decorated! Morgan did the candles and they both did the green icing. There is a picture of a football and lots of initials for all the members of our family!

My Day

So I'm still not caught up with old pictures that I want to post, but I just had to post this picture. This is a snap shot of how my day is going! :) Taken a few minutes ago while Carson was supposed to be napping...

Rain, Rain Go Away!

A couple of weeks ago it rained on and off for close to two weeks so the kids hadn't played outside in so long. We were so desperate on one of the weekends for them to use up some energy that we resorted to playing in the rain. It didn't last long, but any little bit helped!

Go MSU

Holden and Carson in their new MSU gear from Uncle Steve and Morgan in her MSU cheerleader uniform. In the last picture Morgan isn't intentionally choking Carson, but trying to keep him in the picture!

More Pics

Just some cute pictures...Including Aunt Cathy holding Holden!

Home from the Hospital

This was the view from my hospital room. It actually came in very handy since Morgan and Carson spent A LOT of time there after Holden was born. This is Carson comparing his ambulance to the real ambulance outside!
Carson being sweet to his little brother...
Ready to go home!
Everyone at home after all the boys and I picked up Morgan at school for the first time.

More Kindergarten

These two pictures are at the end of the first day of Kindergarten. All the kids walked out in these shirts, so cute! The second picture tells it all though...just how tired she was after school during the first couple of weeks.

These two are from the morning of the second day...We were just so relieved that she was excited to go back for another day!

Kindergarten

These are pics of the first day of Kindergarten. The second one just melts my heart...It is her smiling at her teacher when she asked about her new baby brother. Doesn't she look so proud? School is going great, much much better than we expected. There was only a few days of tears, all for short periods of time. She loves her teacher and I think she loves school in general. We think it's so funny to piece together her day in our heads based on the tidbits of information she gives us. She hasn't conquered walking into the building alone yet, so we time our morning so she can walk in with friends. We are so proud of her!

Holden David Brown

Holden David arrived on August 21st at 6:13pm. 'Holden' is honestly the only boy name that ever stayed on our list for long and his middle name is after both of his Grandpas! He arrived after much drama, including three brief stays in the hospital and bed rest at home for a few days (bed rest at home is VERY hard by the way!).

The second picture is the first time Morgan and Carson were meeting him. Poor Morgan, I don't know how she ever went to sleep the night before knowing that he had been born but not being able to meet him yet. In the second pic of Chris and the kids, you can see the anxiety on Carson's face, not sure at all what to think of this new little person. Next is proud big sister Morgan holding him for the first time and the first picture of just Chris and Holden.

As soon as the older kids came to the hospital the next morning, all of the nurses commented on how Holden looks like both of them and how Carson looks like Chris. It is so funny to hear strangers say that! And yes, Holden has "the nose"! Just like his big sister, big brother and both of his cousins! There is something about that nose...

Getting Ready for Kindergarten

So I know I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind on updating the blog, but at least I have a good excuse! Most of you who read this probably have seen a lot of these pics already, but for my own sanity I have to go way back and cover all the pics taken since I last updated. Enjoy!

The first two pictures are from the parade the week before school starts. All the teachers from Morgan's school are in a parade through the neighborhood, in separate cars by grade, and there was a police car and a school bus for Carson too! The kids made posters and were able to see their teachers. They hadn't met yet, so this was the first time the kids were seeing them. Morgan's teacher even said "Hi, Morgan" to her during the parade so Morgan was super excited! (At this point, we were making a huge deal about anything that was maybe going to help her get through the first day!)

The next picture is Morgan before going to Meet the Teacher night at her school. She wanted another picture of her poster. Since I was on bed rest, I wasn't able to go, so it was just her and Chris. Although missing it was traumatic at the time, I think we have all since recovered. Once I was back home, Morgan even got to give me a personal tour of her classroom one morning before school. She loved this!

The last two pics are at Meet the Teacher...One at her table and one with the Maverick, our school mascot.
