KIDS

This post is just lots of cute pictures of the kids to show the grandparents! :) Holden will be 10 months on Monday.............WOW!! Both of these two pictures of him are super cute, but the first one looks much more like him!

They are in LOVE!

You know I just can't get enough of these brother pictures. Holden absolutely loves watching both Morgan and Carson, but he really gets a kick out of Carson. I just love watching him watch Carson play.
All three of our babes.

More Fun with Family

Chris's sister Cathy was in town for a visit recently. Our visitors usually come in waves. The kids get super spoiled and have tons of fun, and then they are stuck with just us again. Usually we at least have a trip to Michigan to look forward to or we know the next time family will be visiting so we just start to look forward to that.

Carson especially got lots of extra attention while Aunt Cathy was here, since Morgan was in school. This was part of the plan...he needed it. Just yesterday I was actually scolded by Morgan for doing too many fun things while she was in school. :) We did go have lunch with her at school and Carson got to ride some trucks at the outlet mall. Amazingly, I never seem to have any coins when it's just us there.

We took our butterfly nets to try to find fish or frogs to catch. Didn't find much, but had a fun picnic with friends!

Cathy took Carson on his bike to the donut shop and then they ate donuts with the ducks.

We BBQ'd, swam a lot, went to the yogurt shop and played in the fountains. It was a crazy but fun week! We are so lucky that when our family visits, they throw themselves into our crazy lives and lend a hand! Looking forward to our August trip to Michigan!

Go Cubs, Go!

A few weeks ago the Cubs were in town to play the Rangers. When Chris found out they were going to be here, he wasted no time in buying tickets for the whole family to go to the Sunday game. He ended up getting tickets to the Friday and Saturday games through work for himself and friends. He couldn't have been happier! My wonderful friends insisted on me leaving Holden with them, so this was an outing for big kids only! That turned out to be such a blessing, because it was super hot and it of course would have been crazy to have a baby at the game.
Not really sure how much of the game the kids really watched, but I know they enjoyed the hot dogs, Cracker Jacks, cotton candy, ice cream sandwiches and lemon chills (yes, really) that we shared while there. I think they liked dancing to their own rendition of 'Go Cubs, Go' the most, as did a lot of the Cubs fans around us. Really should have gotten that on video!

Me and my precious girl.

We just love having fun family outings like this and every time we do something special like this it just makes me want to do more of them! We love road tripping and little family adventures so we are excited to get to do more of that as the kids get older.

I have a hard time "just going home" after something fun, so we headed out to eat and to run through the fountains near our house.

Love the facial expressions.

Holden wasn't sure quite what to think, but I'm sure he'll know just what to do next summer!

Family

We are super lucky to have our family come visit us often in Texas! Even though they are never long enough, we all look so forward to these visits. It just means to much to us to have the kids get to see their grandparents/aunts/uncles/cousins. Just wish we all lived closer! Here are Grandma Brown and Holden happy as can be.

Grandpa Brown and the big kids.

Everyone looking cute before church.

The girls.
A birthday pancake to celebrate Grandpa Brown's birthday a little early.

All of the kids got extra attention and love while Grandma and Grandpa Brown were here. Morgan showed off her reading and got in some art projects, there was lots of bike riding and donut eating. G and G took Carson to have lunch with Morgan at school and we hit the neighborhood pool briefly. Carson got a one on two morning with just G and G with more bike riding and feeding the ducks. We always hit the yogurt shop when we have visitors and Grandpa and Chris finished the play set. Can't wait for the next visit!

Just Me

My kids say so many things that I think I'll never forget and that I think I'll remember to tell Chris when he gets home from work. Well, that never happens. I should have just started a writing things in a notebook when #1 was younger. So I just had to post this so I would never forget.

Those of you that know Morgan know about her separation issues, her fear of trying new things, and her overall anxiety about so much that goes on in her 6 year old life. We've been dealing with this since 3 yr old preschool so at times I must admit, it gets really annoying to deal with. It's hard to understand how she can be so anxious about so many things that are supposed to be fun! So she is doing a 4 session ice skating class with one of her friends. We missed the first class (I forgot) so we had to go to a makeup the first week without the friend. Completely put her over the edge. She cried a lot. This week was the second week. There were a few tears, but she really did much better. So when she and I were leaving, she said that she knows she cried a little bit in the beginning, but then at the end she wished it would have lasted longer. Then she said, "But Mommy, that's just me. That's just how I am". Just melted my heart. That's probably just what I needed to hear to give me some extra patience to deal with her "issues" right now.

WOW, Time Flies

Morgan on the 2nd day of Kindergarten, August 2009.

Morgan on the last day of Kindergarten, June 2010.

Once again I'm way behind on blogging, but since today was the first day of summer vacation for us I just had to look back at some pictures from last August when Morgan started school. What a roller coaster we have been on since then. Still can't believe I missed her first day of school because I was in the hospital after having Holden. It's all a distant memory now, but it sure did add some excitement to everything!

Morgan we are so proud of you for how well you handled Kindergarten! You really truly loved school this year. You and a friend even told your teacher that you would pay her to stay with you next year. I know you don't want to talk much about first grade, so we will just enjoy our summer vacation together...Reading, writing and crafting to your heart's content!
