Big Boy
When we were at the park yesterday (it was almost 75 and sunny), most of the big kids were riding their bikes and Carson was trying to ride one of their big wheels. He couldn't reach the pedals, but had so much fun going up and down this little tiny hill. One of Morgan's friends has an older brother who is so good to Carson and loves playing with him. Yesterday he passed down two of his little bikes to Carson, so sweet! Luckily it was still in the 60s for part of today so they were able to ride bikes in the morning. I think he looks so old!

Leaves
Santa
I've been stressing because we hadn't taken the kids to see Santa yet. I'm worried that if Morgan never told Santa what she wanted, then when all these gifts show up on Christmas, she's going to wonder how he knew if she never told him... I'm not real confident that she is going to believe for long, can you tell? It also doesn't help that someone at school today told her that Santa isn't real! Come on, they're four!
Check out the look at Carson's face right when he sat down...

Good Laugh
Not Much New...
So there hasn't been much to post about at the Brown house lately. My kids don't want their picture taken, so I can't even do pictures only! Lately though, we've learned that a limping toddler can be a bad thing...But fortunately for us it was just an expensive thing! Carson went about four days without really using his left leg, but after $75 in co-pays plays x-rays he is healed. It wasn't quite the same around here with him back to crawling!
We do have a bit of cabin fever going on though...We miss being able to go to the park or ride bikes outside everyday. The pics above are of Morgan and Carson getting along so great in the morning. At about 4:30pm everyday things look a lot different! And yes, that is the remote that Morgan is holding. She doesn't have it all day, I promise!
Here is Morgan making her gingerbread house - yes, out of a kit! Hopefully she enjoyed it just as much as one I would have made from scratch! Our tree (fake and so hideous) is up and the lights are up outside. We have driven around a few times already to see the lights around the neighborhood and we get SO many questions about why we don't have any blow up decorations or moving reindeer in our yard. Maybe someday Morgan!
We have to get to see Santa this weekend, Morgan and Chris have their ball on Friday and we can't WAIT to go to Michigan for Christmas!

Pooped
We went to the park with Morgan's class today right after school. We brought Carson's police car with us for him to push/ride, since he can only sit in it in our backyard! He played with it for quite a while. Once we passed what should have been nap time, him and another little brother fought over it for awhile and tried to see who could throw it and push it over harder. This is what he looked like after the fight! He stayed like this for about 15 minutes until I told him it was time to leave.

Pumpkin Patch
Thanks Carson!
So I've been getting heckled over not updating my blog...I guess people just can't wait to see what's going on in the Brown house! Well, Carson took care of that for me today. The kids got to go to a Halloween party at their friend Abby's house today and so we were enjoying ourselves when I overheard someone say it was 12:35pm. Oh my - The speech therapist for Carson was going to be at our house in 10 minutes! So the kids were troopers hustling to the car with me and with some fancy driving we were home in 11 minutes! Carson fell asleep in the car with just a t-shirt and diaper on since that is what was under his costume. So, after debating with myself that is what I put him down for his nap in. When he woke up 3 and 1/2 hours later, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary as he sprinted past me and out of his room. But Morgan did...He was naked! The diaper was in a heap on his bed along with a wet firetruck bed, sheet, animal, etc. Amy - Do you remember me wondering if Morgan would take her diaper off if I let her sleep without bottoms on? Just one of the differences between the two...

Finally...
So I finally gave in to a sandbox for Carson. Not that he was begging or anything (that would require him to talk which he refuses to do), but we all just knew how much he would love it after seeing him on the beach and in a couple other sandboxes. But in the backyard? Everyday? When was the last time we were able to skip a bath? It's going to be awhile!
You will be so proud - the sand cost more than the sandbox! Found it for $2 at a garage sale.

Balloon Festival
At the last minute today we decided to go join the 80,000 other people that go to the Plano Balloon Fest. We are normally too cheap to actually go to the festival, but rather see what we can at a nearby park. So first I see (fried I assume) turkey legs...Yummy. Well, that line was waaaaaaay too long. So then I see grilled (and buttered) corn on the cob. This line was long too...but we stuck it out only to get to the front of the line and realize that one ear was $5! So yes, we all shared one. Well, actually Carson and Morgan shared one and Chris and I never got any. I guess Carson liked it...
Yes, we had a funnel cake (I thought they were called elephant ears) too. Only fruits and veggies to eat tomorrow!!

So very different...
So those of you that know Morgan know that she is near deathly afraid of dogs...Which is just fine with us since we will NEVER have one at our house! But then there is Carson, who must get his fix when people bring their dogs to the park, soccer games, etc. This will have to be enough for him!
And I know Morgan needs some face time on this blog too, but all of the pictures I took of her at soccer today (it was even picture day) have so many other kids in them! Not sure if everyone wants their photo out here...

"Frustrated"
"Mommy, since police cars have other cars, but fire trucks and ambulances don't, I get frustrated when I see firetrucks and ambulances at a store because I don't know if they are there to buy groceries or if someone needed help."
Frustrated, really?
Translation: Mommy traumatized Morgan by making her watch a Care Flight helicopter land in the park a couple weeks ago. Now the questions regarding police cars, fire trucks, ambulances and even construction and city utility vehicles with lights have doubled! And if any of these have lights on - watch out!

Vacation Recovery
So I now know that Morgan has flown too often in her young life since she started playing "security" this afternoon at home! She also had to remind Chris when he was going to buy a Diet Coke for us to share and a bottle of water for her that she couldn't drink the pop, she could only drink water and she wouldn't be able to finish all of the water before we went through security so he should just buy the water for us all to share. Oh my!!
Anyway, we're home from 8 days in Michigan. We had an awesome time with gorgeous weather almost all of the time! Chris, my dad, his best friend Clark, Morgan and I went sailing on Lake Michigan and she was a trooper. I think my dad and Clark were thrilled to see that she was a natural! And no one even got sea sick... We also went to the beach twice and Carson has now convinced us to get a sand box for the back yard for when the weather cools off. He LOVED the sand! It won't be quite the same without the sound of the lake in the background...but it should do! I wish I could say another highlight of the trip was another beautiful aspect of Michigan that we don't have in Texas - but no - it was the Barbie Jeep that Chris' parents borrowed from some friends for Morgan! I think she spent 50% of her time in it! And Carson loved it too, but Morgan had to learn fast that he liked to get in and out a lot! Amazingly, his foot was only run over one time!
And in case anyone is wondering...Carson's behavior on the plane was just as expected - CRAZY!! I was shocked at his ability to scale the seat in the airplane and almost land in the lap of the lady sitting behind me...Should I call that athleticism?
